The purpose of this blog...

I've developed this blog to provide an area for people to discuss items related to the world of art and the teaching of art. Just like everything else in the world, art is going through many changes. One of the biggest things that is changing is the adaptation of technology to create art. Many artists are using technology. I will discuss items related to this or other items I may find important. I will also share technology tools that I find useful to other areas as well.

Been a long time...

So...it's been awhile since I've posted on my blog. Life seems to fly by. Anyhow, I'm going to attempt to post more often.
What I would like to share:
My classroom website (contains items that we are doing in class)

I spent a week co-teaching podcasts with the Social Studies teacher. We spent a whole period teaching the process of making podcasts and then assisted with the making of them for a few days. This podcasts have been uploaded to podbean. You can listen to them here: Mrs. Egan's Podcasts

I've also been a part of the Assessment for Learning program through the Iowa Department of Education. Since I've been a part of this program...I post student goals on the board everyday, constant descriptive feedback, having students to be a part of writing learning goals, peer and self-assessment (feedback)... I've completely made an adjustment to my teaching and my classroom has completely changed!
